Bobasi MP and his bodyguard who were charged Court over attack of a private quarry is matter that had raised eyebrows in and outside Gusii.
Bobasi member of parliament Innocent obiri with his bodyguard Charles Nyakweba who were on Monday morning arraigned in Ogembo and Kisii Law courts respectively had gone to the quarry scene at Nyamonema in a scene where locals say the quarry has been mistreating theor workers
The two first appeared before Ogembo resident magistrate Julius Mutahi where they were charged with incitement but is it worth.
Pundits have argued that Obiri might be fighting a cartel whosee roots have run deep within his constituency.
According to the charge sheet, read by Ogembo resident magistrate Julius Mutahi where they were charged for incitement and trespassing to a private property that led to loss of property.
Obiri was charged that on 6th May this year at Getenga location without authority entered county 45 investment limited quarry and blocked the entrance with his vehicle there by creating disturbance in a manner that caused a preach of peace contrary to section 95 (1)B of the penal code .
The two pleaded not guilty and they were released on a cash bail of 100,000 each with similar a surety
Mention set for 25th May and hearing 29th June this year.
The two were transferred to Kisii Law court where they again appeared before senior resident magistrate Ezekiel Obina.
Mr Obiri was charged that on 6th May at Masongo village without lawfully excuses altered words in Ekegusii which indicated desirable to damage or destroy property of county 45 investment.
He pleaded not guilty and was released on cash bail 50,000
