Health Services in Nyamira County will be digitized as from 2019, County Health Executive Committee Member, Douglas Bosire has said.
The idea which had been mooted five years ago, was put on hold because a workable framework had not been arrived at. He said after going through a ratified memoranda between his County and Sub county Health Management Team and the Partners in his office.
“Under Governor John Nyagarama’s leadership and blessings, we can now direct our CHMT and SCHMT alongside our partners to move ahead since we have taken a common stand to embrace the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) as a quick away to serve our clients in the chosen facilities”, said Bosire adding that partners had identified 9 health facilities both from Government and faith based from where they will roll out the EMR pillot project and later cascade the same downwards.
He said Nyamira County Referral Hospital tops the list of EMR beneficiaries and all the 5 sub counties have been captured for consideration by the partners and the County Health Management Team (CHMT).
The Subcounty hospitals in the list include Keroka, Manga, Kijauri and Ekerenyo.
The Health Centres include Nyansiongo, Ting’a, Tombe, and Nyamusi.
