In the recent past the members of the County Assembly of Nyamira has shown a new awakening in its oversight mandate.
This requires leaders from all walks of life, political, social, youth, women and academia to stand with this members who have shown a new charged resolve to stand with the common folk commonly referred to as Kemunto, Onchonga and Mogaka.
The passage of the motion of impeachment of a committee member of the executive, and the impending motion on another is a clear indication that our assembly members have come of age and ready to walk the talk.
Secondly, the move by the County executive to appropriate Kshs 147 million from development vote to recurrent to pay a ballooning wage bill. And the failure to account for funds allocated to non-existent Chief Officers is a clear indication of an incompetent regime which belongs in the courts of Justice.
The Nyamira County senator has gone absent without official leave from the voters who overwhelming gave him a mandate to oversight the governor’s expenditure on tax payers money.
As a matter of critical County concern, relevant bodies like the re-energized anti-corruption agencies need to take note of the rot and corruption in Nyamira County executive and take action like yesterday.
