As political leaders from different political parties crisscross and traverse the country in a bid to get support for their presidential favorites, some regions like Kisii have become hard for some parties like Jubilee Party and their presidential aspirants to sell their policies and ideologies to the area residents.

In Nyamira county, history may repeat itself again like what transpired in the last general elections where the area residents showed a rare sense by uniting   and   locking   out the Jubilee party and their leaders. They blame William Ruto for playing cunning hare  politics in Kisii politics.

In the last elections, Cord scooped most of the positions like the seats of the governor, senate, members of parliament, woman rep and majority of the members of the county assembly  but save for four seats which the Jubilee party  won in the county assembly.

For the last five months, Jubilee under the leadership of Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto has been postponing their campaigns to Nyamira and Kisii counties after   realising that they could receive hostile reception from residents.

The hostility which they also received when they both toured the county late last year has been giving sleepless nights and are looking for a formidable formula on how to approach the county during this period of elections.

Jubilee spirants for the various elective positions from the two counties have also been unwelcome as the area residents in protest of their move to drum up support for the Jubilee party which they argue has ignored the community in development and appointments of members of their community to the national government.

The residents argue that they have no reason to support the Jubilee government because when it won the last elections, it only shared the national with two communities.

Residents accuse the Jubilee government  for failing to compensate families of  their people who were killed and displaced during the 2008 post election violence.

Some of the aspirants who have declared their candidatures for senior elective seats in Nyamira county and are getting rough times with the electorates in selling the Jubilee agenda to them include Joseph Kiangoi, Walter Nyambati, Ereneo Nyakiba, Charles Mochama, Dennis Abincha, Catherine Nyamato, Jerusa Momanyi, Joshine Nyarera, Joash Nyamoko, James Mamboleo, Shadarak Mose and aspirants for the positions of the county assembly .

More problems have engulfed the Jubilee party because of the confusion as to who should carry the mantle of the party tickets in the elections due particularly in the seats of the governor, MPs and women rep.

Reliable sources confided that sharp division has emerged particularly among the candidates who are aspiring for the seat of the governor, threatening the unity of the party and president’s support from the region.

Aspirants particularly those eyeing for the seat of the governor and women rep are taking much of their time in discrediting and undermining their rivals instead of strengthening and talking about the unity of the party ahead of the next general elections .

Sources say that both Uhuru and Ruto were interfering with the nomination exercise by  each sponsoring their favourites candidates  for some  positions a factor which was not going down well with party supporters.

Last week, Ruto sneaked to Nyamira county  over the weekend over what political observers say was a mission to taste the waters over their popularity and the Jubilee party by area residents.

Ruto  flew straight to Kenyoro Lutheran Church in North Mugirango constituency in the name of attending  a church service and prayers for Joshiah Moriasi who had been appointed as the CEO of Youth Enterprise Fund.

Sources close to Jubilee supporters said he avoided using the road because rumours was doing the round that he may heckled by the people of the county who are not comfortable with the leadership of Jubilee.

During the visit, Ruto who was  not accompanied by any elected  leader from outside Nyamira county has his tradition came face to face to a divided Jubilee political leadership of the men and women who are supposed to be Jubilee leading lights in Nyamira region politics.

First the Jubilee leaders led by Kiangoi, Nyambati, Nyakiba and Mochama expressed their disappointment over the surprise visit arguing that as leaders it could have been prudent for the them to deeply involved in its organisation rather than being ambushed into it.

The leaders who never wanted to be quoted argued that as Jubilee leaders, they could have been alerted over the visit an oversight  which they said had caused more division among the party supporters and leaders has it had come out that there people which Ruto favoured than others .

During the five hour stay at the church, no leaders was given chance to speak but save for Kiangoi who comes from the constituency and by virtue of being a member of East African Legislative Assembly and Joash Nyamoko who is the Nyamira county assembly speaker and an aspirant for the North Mugirango parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket .

The best Ruto could was to drum support for Nyamoko as the rest of the other aspirants watched in disbelief.

To add an injury  to a wound all the aspirants apart from Nyambati were dressed in Jubilee attires but could not be given even a minute to salute the gathering thus reducing their political popularity in the county.

In a bid to lure the area residents to Jubilee party Ruto announced that all the residents of Kenyoro could get free electrify at the cost of Sh5.8 million .

The meeting which was highly guarded watched Ruto as he pleaded for the support of the people of Nyamira county in the next general elections recalling that in the last elections ,the  county had not  voted for  the Jubilee party  as they expected .
