Elected leaders more so Members of county assembly have been challenged to do their oversight role since it’s the key role mandated in which will help devolution.
Speaking during a holy mass at Marani for area ward, Kisii county MCA, elect, Denis Ombachi, Centre for Multi party democracy and PDP chairman, Omingo Magara challenged the MCAs to effectively perform the role.
Magara said challenged the MCAs to put the county government leadership on toes before the Senate intervened.
The area unsuccessful senatorial seat contestant in the just concluded polls remarked party leaders had stakes in the county governments and will press for quality service delivery to the residents.
He urged the residents to give the MCAs ample time to deliver on their manifestoes even as challenges bedeviling devolved governments were being tackled.
Ombachi thanked the area residents for demonstrating trust in him and assured them of his commitment to serve them devoid of any considerations.
The MCA elect urged community leaders to draft a priority project list soon for implementation.
According to him, the residents understood their rights in devolution and will profile leaders who did not perform with a view to replacing them.
He vowed to work closely with the county governor, James Ongwae claiming he had been re-elected to complete the sh. 1.5 billion projects including, an office at Marani,Nyansaga dispensary and several rural access roads.
