There is need to support the newy competence based curriculum (CBC) as one way of improving education standards across the country.
Addressing Parents and other stakeholders at Kilgoris during the opening of Olympic Academy in the Area , the Olympic schools Director Zachary Onduso noted that they have opened the school in the area aiming to help students with the new curriculum.
Mr. Onduso said that the school will help pupils study the new curriculum which is based in competency of the pupil unlike outgoing 8-4-4 system.
“As Olympic schools we are happy for opening one of our school branch in this area, we are aiming to help Pupils more so when the ministry has rolled out the newly competence school based program,” he said
At the same time he hailed the Maasai community for giving moral support showing how willingness they are in embracing education which is the Key to success.
“ At the first time when I visited this place I never expected that I will get warm welcome from the locals but I thank God for the interaction and support I have received from locals, the administration which has enabled us to achieve this”
“Starting school in new location is not easy but through the support we have final made it, now it’s to see our children enrolling and get quality education which will transform life of our children, “added Onduso
The school which is up to standard six as per the new curriculum is aimed to help students access to education as many schools in the area are scattered.
Area member of county assembly Julius Olemunka said that opening of the school in the area is development-oriented.
“Nobody ever had it in mind that we will have the school in this hill, but now we have one, this is one way the area develops.” Said MCA Olemunka
He also promise area residents that he will use the influence of the school to open more roads which will ease transport and make sure there is Electricity in the area .

Also in attendance Narok County Project Coordinator Ledama Keriko assured Parents that they will ensure the schools is full compliance with the new curriculum.
“ We are happy that we have a new school in this area , this the kind of competitions that we need , as county project coordinator I have ensured that the quality of the building is up to the standards, the school has followed all laws and even the teachers employed are required by Teachers service commission” Said Keriko
Olympic Academy is one of the best performing schools in Kisii region as all 2019 candidates performed well having enrolled in best High schools in the Country.
