Kisi county youth have who have not joined any training in either university or college to use the government’s opportunity to enroll in vocational training centers.
Speaking to Gusii star, former Kisii County Member of County assembly Steve Arika has said that since government has embarked on investing in vocational trainings there is no doubt that the mission is to enable each and every youth is knowledgeable skillfully.
“It’s indeed remarkable that there exists vocational centers that can now cater for our youths who have for some time demeaned themselves and assumed that joining universities and other colleges are signs of worked hard to achieve academically”, he stated
Mr Arika who spoke to Gusii star added that it will be of benefit and significance for leaders and all stakeholders’ to encourage vocational training to the young so as to empower the community in future of skilled workforce.
“I also urge alumni of various TVET institutions to also be ambassadors and role models of their various institutions so as to encourage the young to enroll for various courses”, he said.
Courses like Masonry, tailoring, saloon and Beauty among others are the most paying as of now and in the future”, Arika stated
Arika also said it will be of great impact for youths within the region to let the Interior CS Fred Matiang’I who brought reforms to the Ministry of Education and hence there is need for leaders to emulate his footsteps.
