Construction of Nyamache markets boost to Agriculture sector Says Ongwae

Bobasi residents more so those who hails from Nyamache sub county   are happy after the county Government in partnership with world bank breaks ground for the construction for the proposed Banana Market

Addressing   residents after laying  the foundation stone for the construction of ksh 117 million , Kisii  governor James  Ongwae  said  that they came into agreement to have it at Nyamache after research indicate that Bosabi constituencies leads   in Banana production in entire Kisii county.

 “ I would like to let you know  that  today we are here  because after doing research it emerged that Bobasi produces over 32 million Kg of Banana per year which is result of 250 million shilling per year , by having this market here  I know that it will boost the industry to 500 Million shilling per  year   “  Says Ongwae

  According to Governor James ongwae the market will be a big boost to banana sector by indicating after completion, there will be other projects which will generate from it.

 For instance opening of Roads in the area, installation of street lights, construction of toilets, bore hole among other related projects.

 He assured residents that the project will take 9 months to its completion.

He added that the setting of Banana market has been his priority area will will help farmers from the losses they get while selling .

At the same time he called farmers to take advantage and liaise with extension officers to learn on how to produce the best banana varieties for future benefits.

  Kisii county Women representative Janet Ongera who accompanied the Governor hailed him for considering Bobasi Constituency.

 “It’s a privilege for the county Government for bringing the processing banana markets; this will help our youths to have jobs and our mothers to do business “Said Ongera

 At the same time he urged the Governor to consider health facilities within the constituency so that residents can get better healthcare services cross to them, the matter Ongwae said will be looked upon it within 2 months .
