COVID 19 has hardened living standards not only in urban areas but up to rurals areas, whereby some people can sleep hungry as businesses shut down making breadwinners lose jobs.
In aid of boosting residents of Kisii county more so Windows and vulnerable in the society ,Kisii county women representative Janet Ongera has come up with a program of giving some foodstuffs.
Addressing windows at Sensi ward on Wednesday , The county mp said that she came up with the aid after realizing that most residents have no food following the corona virus pandemic.
“Today am in Sensi ward meeting windows ,I have given them foodstuffs , I know they are facing more challenges during this period,through friends of good will and my office as Ngina banto I heard their cry that’s why we have meant them”Said Ongera
She also challenged the windows to form groups which will help them to acquire affirmative action money .
Ongera also called upon residents to follow the guidelines set by the ministry of health ,for instance wearing a mask, sanitizing and keeping social distance.
“Don’t wear a mask because of the police, Covid 19 is real , let us observe the guidelines and we will be safe” she noted.
Senator Ongera called upon parents to be vigilant and take care of their children more so girl children during the long holiday.
“Let’s monitor our children during this time, we want to get all students going back to school in January”
Her statement comes after the number early pregnancies is on the rise across the country the country,”
I call, upon our girls to give education first priority , when one is educated she will have a better future” she added
Sensi ward member of County assembly Paul Angwenyi hailed Mama county for her closeness to People.
“Its sound nice when you are remembered by your mother more during hard time, we thank Mama Ongera for visiting our windows who hare suffered during this Covid 19 period,”said Angwenyi
