Kisii 22 August 2020…..A family that lost three people to inferno in Kisii town, Kisii county , have passionately appeals to two levels of Government and well wishers to assist them to meet medical bills and funeral expenses
David Onyango the Husband and the father to the late said that after the accident which occurred on Tuesday Morning at ‘soko mjinga’ ,the fire consumed everything .
David Onyango’s wife Carolyne Akinyi and his daughter Melody Akoth succumbed to the intensity of the fierce fire two days after the death of the youngest daughter, Anne Atieno.
Onyango is survived with one child who was away when the mother and siblings met their fate.
“Am appealing to well wishers to chip in and help me , i was left with nothing after the incident,”appeals Onyango
He is required to meet the funeral expenses including the medical bill and transportation costs of the bodies home for burial.
The widower laments over his inability to raise the much needed funds after losing his artisan job in the current covid19 period.

The fire whose cause was yet to be established broke out at ‘Soko Mjinga’ village,Nubia in Kitutu Chache South, and trapped the victims inside, prompting residents to move in , rescue and rush them to hospital.
Benson Oduor, a care taker of the premises in which the ill-fated house was located, described the tragedy as ‘overwhelming’ for the family which had been plunged into financial difficulties.
He said the Kenya Power company technical team visited the compound and left in a huff.
Samuel Omwando,former defunct Kisii town mayor, launched a stinging criticism on the county government for forsaking the bereaved family since the tragedy struck .
Adding that this the time the county government through disaster department needs to react unlike having public relation exercises.
He has called upon well wishers to chip in and help the family .
