School reopening as covid19 curve start to stabilize Says Magoha.

Kisii 25 August 2020………….Cabinet secretary of Education George Magoha has said schools will open as soon as the covid19 curve flattens.

Speaking at Kisii National polytechnic on Tuesday while inspecting the level of preparedness for schools, Colleges and Universities in line with the ministry of health’s guidelines to curb the spread of Covid19,the CS said if the the curve flattens the government shall come back to the roadmap.

we shall come back to the roadmap ,when the curves stabilizes and flattens completely,” said Magoha.

Cs Magoha said some schools have prepared well and ready for opening while others are not yet ready hence they will ensure that all institutions complies before reopening .

“We are going to stand firm and harsh to ensure all schools prepare well for equality and quality learning and no school will open and others close, that’s why we are moving with speed of ensuring that all are in compliance ,”said Magoha.

He said everybody should have the willingness to follow the ministry of health’s guidelines in the fight against covid19.

He said the narrative is that schools must open and the government is not going to be intimidated by the section of the cooperation whose aim at the bottom line is how much they will make, businesses associated in the opening of schools, some private schools and cartels in the ministry of education.

He noted that those children who are not getting online learning have teachers living around them and they will help those children learn.

He said over 350,000 teachers live with school going children and those teachers will help them in the community learning.
