Nyamira 1 September 2020….Medicine shortage in several health centers across the  County during this Corona period has been addressed after the health department Monday, received a consignment of medicine worth over 100 million shillings from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
While flagging of the the supply, ,Governor John Nyagarama said that the long scarce of key medicines in the health facilities would be forgotten as more supplies were expected from KEMSA.
He said that the delay of supply had been occasioned by the Corona virus pandemic which has hit the world and the countries supplying the medicines.
“We have finally been relieved from the acute shortage of medicines in our health facilities as we are today flagging off a consignment of the same, worth over 100 million shillings.
The long delay of the supply has been brought about by the Corona virus which has also hit the supplying countries including India, which is known to be a manufacturer of many drugs,” said Nyagarama.

Nyagarama at the same time warned against pilferage of medicine.
The supply is the second in this year after another  one was delivered in February worth over Kshs.60 million shillings.
