Regional Police commander vows to eradicate illicit brew, gender violence in Kisii.

Kisii 2nd September 2020..………Security officers n Nyanza region have started collecting data of violence and illegal which will help them to set more strategies to combat it.

Addressing the press on Wednesday in Kisii when she met top security officers in Kisii town during a familiarization tour Regional police Commander Lydia Ligami noted that they are collecting data on the level of violence and illegal brew to combat it.

The commander added that they have put strategies in place to fight Gender Based Violence and illicit brew in the region.

“In the meeting we have set up strategist which will guide us to have the information on the crimes in the region so that we can Manage them” says Regional Commander

Abdirizack Jaldesa, the new Kisii county commissioner also noted that the Regional Commander held a meeting with senior police officers from all Departments to know them and plan on how to beef up security for residents and their properties in the region.

“The Regional commander came to know the officers in the County issues affecting Kisii County”said Jaldesa.

Kisii Governor James Ongwae who was present said the county and national government have been working closely on matters of security .

Ongwae added that the county was working closely with National government officers to fight the illicit brew and covid 19, which has ravaged the country, caused deaths and suffering.
