KISII Sept 9th, 2020………. Church leaders from Gusii region have mourned the departed leader of Church of God in East Africa Kenya, Rev. Dr. Archbishop Byrum Makokha, describing him as a State partner in the fight against graft.
In their condolence message, the leaders led by Rev. James Mogire, who is the Assistant Director, Archives, at the Kima based church headquarters in Western region, the leaders hailed Makokha’s efforts through his book that criticized and aimed at fighting graft in government.
“Makhoha will be remembered as as an advisor, visionary leader and symbol of anti-corruption in society at large”, they said.
The fallen clergy will be remembered in the region for sponsoring schools and health facilities to address different social needs within the society.
Rev Makhoha founded and lead churches with an aim of consolidating an unmatched following over decades.

In Kisii town, he spearheaded the construction and dedication of the magnificent Getembe COG church which acted as a central reference point for the churches in the region.
“We wish and pray for the family to receive Gods calmness even as the archbishop who is a highly respected scholar and philosopher”, they added.
His body will be interred at Ebubi,Emuhaya in Vihiga county on saturday.
