Luthers Mokua, Jezreel Mbegera wins FKF seats, promise to revive football in Gusii.

Luthers Mokua has won Nyamira county chairman seat during Football Kenya Federation elections after winning with 14 votes against Thomas Mayaka’s one as five delegates kept off the exercise. 

Thomas Nyasani also got 14 votes to clinch the secretary’s post with his rival, Evans Onderi getting one. Other officials were elected unopposed including David Kireki (treasurer), Harriet Kemunto (woman representative) and David Maseti (youth representative

Addressing the Press by being declared the winner by Returning Officer , Mokua said his agenda in the next four years is to ensure a team from Nyamira is promoted to the Kenyan Premier League.

According to him sports activities in Nyamira county has been on a downward trend , but now he will use the opportunity as the chairman to revive football in the region.

Mokua’s wife Nancy Nyabayo who accompanied Luthers noted that she will support her husband in improving sports in the region.

” we thank God for the victory , mine is to support Luthers to achieve all the goals, ” She said

In Kisii Jezreel Mbegera swept all seats after he garnered 10 votes against former Nyanza South chairman Yobes Mose, who had six. Evans Mageka was elected secretary after he polled nine votes.

Speaking after being declared winner Mbegera pledged to revamp football in the county, hailing the delegates and supporters who played a key role to his victory.

I would like to thank all delegates who have supported me, i will ensure that i revive football by working with all stakeholders” he said

In his part Evans Mageka who was elected secretary noted that they are ready to work with all stakeholders to revive football in Kisii County and they will establish a well-equipped county office , give equally opportunities to residents and Teams.
