Kisii 28 September 2020………..Kisii Governor James Ongwae has said that the region is ready to host this year’s mashujaa day fete after the COVID-19 spike disrupted Madaraka day.
According to Governor Ongwae who spoke in one of the local radio station on Monday Morning Confirmed that the county will host this year Mashujaa day celebrations which will be held at Gusii stadium.
The county boss noted that Kisii Stadium has been upgraded to high standards for hosting the event,adding Roads have been recarpeted and lighting improved in Kisii town and its environs.
“The installation of street lights will strengthen security and enable people to work overnight,” Ongwae said
” its privileged that we are going to host Mashujaa day event , it would be major boost for Kisii town residents ,other than cohesion, such national events help spruce up our towns and adjacent markets.” He said
To business people more so those with buildings have been challenged to repaint their premises ahead of a big event.
“As the county we are ready for the big day, much has been done and all that has been left will be completed soon, i call upon residents to prepare well for he day”
other achievements so far the county has done a head of the function is upgrade of Kegati water project , State lodge among other projects.
National events have been held across the country on a rotational basis since 2015 and Kisii will host Mashujaa Day celebrations on October 20 since all the facilities are ready.
