Youths welcome leaders for Mashujaa day,call IEBC to suspend early campaigns.

Kisii 08 October 2020……………As the county is in final stages preparing for Mashujaa day , Gusii youth leaders across the county have hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving Kisii County a chance to hold this year’s Event which will be held at Gusii stadium.

Speaking to the media the youths drawn from Kisii and Nyamira counties said that its honor for the county to host event which will be occasioned by by President Uhuru Kenyatta , Deputy President William Ruto Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and CS Fred Matiang’i among other guests .

We take this opportunity to thank our able President Uhuru Kenyatta for honoring our county to host Mashujaa Day, we have seen development projects done in preparations of the big day noted Douglas Ogari

At the same time they have assured that peace will prevail during the function by teaming Kisii County among the peaceful counties and will maintain decorum to maintain its dignity.

  They have warned leaders against hate speech utterances. They have said that Kisii County has been a peaceful County since 2007 and whoever comes to Kisii is welcomed but should watch his or her utterances.

” our county has been peaceful , leaders are always welcomed but we call upon those who are fond of making hate speech to know that we are not ready for that.,” Said Denis Mosoti ODM youth leader in Kisii county.

The have asked IEBC to give directions and guidelines on early campaigns which has seen gaining momentum and in some extent causing chaos in some parties of the country.

” As youths of this country we call upon IEBC to come out with guidelines which will see the country getting out from early campaigns before the 2022 elections” Said Ogari

In solidarity youth leaders hailed Interior Security and National Government Cabinet Security Dr Fred Matiang’i for the good work of development he is doing to the country.

They have called leaders to stop using youths to settle political scores at their own expense through giving out handouts.

” We call upon leaders more so politicians to stop using youths but instead empower them through a proper long term government plan,We will not sit back and allow our youths to be used to settle political scores at their own expense” They said as they urge youths to stop allowing political leaders to misuse them to disrupt peace for their own interests, putting their lives at risk.

Also they have asked all leaders to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta who is focused to unity the country and achieve is four bid agendas.
