Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi on Friday claimed of a plot by some crooks to cause mayhem during Mashujaa Day in Kisii.

He has since reported to security agencies and asked for investigations into the matter with view to have the plotters arrested.

Maangi said as Tangatanga supporters they have received credible intelligence that some people want to use some goons to cause disturbances and blame it on Pro-Ruto backers.

This is a matter that should be acted so that nobody would cause chaos and begin blaming on our supporters. I have already shared with security and we hope they act on it,” said Maangi during a press conference at his residence in Kisii.

Speaking in Nyamira on Thursday during a function by DP Ruto , a section of Tangatanga allied MP’s accused the state of an attempt to lock out Tangatanga supporters during the Tuesday event.

MPs Ndindi Nyoro, Sylivanus Osoro and Rigathi Gachagua said it was unfortunate that some people want to use a national function to square their differences with the Tangatanga supporters.

They said a national function like Mashujaa Day is meant to unite Kenyans to rally together as one nation and celebrate its rich historical heritage.

And speaking in Kisiii, County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi said there had been a pattern where leaders hide behind dirty politics to paint other political wings negatively.

“Personally I have no problems with the President or ODM party leader Raila Odinga. Let nobody use political differences to cause disturbances,” said Maangi
