Abagusii Culture and Development Council members had congratulated Mzee Nyansera upon receiving a ‘Mashujaa’ honour from President Uhuru Kenyatta during this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations at Gusii stadium.
Long serving retired teacher, Nyansera from Bomwanda in Kisii South, passed on at a Nairobi hospital as the family made arrangements to bury his wife,Mariana.
The national chairman, James Matundura alluded to the deceased’s unparalleled leadership skills when steering the council as Vice chairman while he was engaged in the BBI assignment.
Nyansera’s advanced age of past 70, could not deter him from enrolling and obtaining a degree in Conflict Resolution and Mediation from Kisii University.
Anne Masenge,a member, described the fallen leader as a great teacher with several attributes including serving as secretary to the local KNUT branch and Catholic schools with integrity.
Nominated MCA,Mary Michieka said Nyansera will be remembered for the role he played in strengthening Jubilee party and Peace Committees at the grassroot among others.
Michieka who is also the local treasurer for the ruling party condoled the deceased’s family for losing not only a caring father but a respected community leader.
