They always say that its good to give back to the society , this was evidently confirmed on Tuesday at Bosose ELCK Primary school when Chief Justice David Maraga commissioned administration block constructed courtesy of him.

Chief Justice David Maraga funded the construction of various projects at a primary school in his rural home in Bosose village, Nyamira County

These are some of the final touches the CJ who is set to retire on Friday is doing in his effort to leave a sound legacy before he leaves office.

The projects that cost undisclosed amounts of money, will go a long way in giving learners at the local primary school a conducive learning environment.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony on Tuesday, Maraga called upon pupils to work hard as he promised to sponsor two top candidates from the school up to the university.

According to Maraga the school was the best present he could gift his people with for educating him.
He studied in the neighboring Sironga Primary school his teen years before joining Kisii High school which was  known as Kisii African Government School before joining the University of Nairobi (UoN) to study Law.

I want to make it clear that this school was done through my personal and family contributions as away of saying thank you to my people for educating me and seeing me through this position as Kenya’s CJ, ” said Maraga ,adding Education has made him what he is today and he wants to make the learning environment better than how it was then, so that our children can have humble time to study and reach their dream”,

” Nobody knows tomorrow and the future , we have future chief justice from this young pupils ,during our times we used to go to school barefoot, something that motivates me to assist the less privileged in society” said Maraga adding that depending on the availability of funds, he will spearhead the construction of a library in the school.

Maraga, a staunch SDA believer raised concerns over the high rate in which schools going children were engaging in drug abuse challenging local administrators to be keen in securing girls from early marriages.

” We all know that we are surrounded with alcohol substances my appeal to the parents ,stakeholder and even students to be vigilant so that we can have a free society where our pupils focus in Education ” he added

According to the school’s head teacher Ms Daureen Mashine, the school has a total population of 360 learners among them 27 in a special unit. Through his friends, the CJ who is also a patron at the school donated computers and furniture.

The Headteacher hailed Cj maraga for the good work he has done to the school and promised to make sure the school shines academical.
