A youthful senatorial candidate has embarked on a program of donating masks to schools.

Kisii 14th December 2020……..A youthful senatorial candidate has embarked in a program of donating masks to school after it was realized that most students don’t have face masks.

Addressing the press on Monday at Nyamemiso primary and Secondary schools , Team Okeng’o Nyambane noted that donating of masks to students it is one way of helping students to have them to observe health protocols in the fight against the deadly Corona Virus .

Led by Caleb Angwenyi they added that Okeng’o is targeting to help the students and even teachers to have masks as the government announced reopening of all classes students come January.

Today we are here at Nyamemiso courtesy of Our able brother Okengo Nyambane , through donating of this masks we are sure that our children will be save at schools from the pandemic which is threatening our life ” he said adding that they are targeting all schools within Kisii county

To students they challenged them to work hard since life has tremendously changed.

Although we are facing many challenges including the pandemic which has affected even the education system and the economy at large i urge students to work hard for the better future, ” said Caleb

Headteacher Nyamemiso Primary Kisicha Atuti hailed the aspirant Senator for coming up with the idea since some of pupils come to school without Masks.

” I would like to thank Mr Okeng’o for coming up with this idea for sure we have been facing challenges since some students come to school without mask , some have those which has worn out or being dirty ,and as we understand in some locality providing for mask is challenge to some parents,” Headteacher Atuti said

” We wish him well and we welcome him to visitor school to get to know our problems so that once he is elected he can be able to address them, ” he added

The headteacher also added that his school is still facing a lot of challenges including lack of enough water, lack of enough classrooms among others more so during this Covid 19 period and as the Government announced the opening of school come January the school is in dilemma how it will accommodation all Pupils.

Principal Nyamemiso DEB secondary School Peter Simba also applauded Team Okeng’o for their good gesture of supporting students with masks.
