ODM secures Kiamokama seat .

Kisii Kenya05 March 2021………….. The Orange Democratic Movement has managed to retain its seat in the just concluded Kiamokama ward by-election in Kisii County.

The party’s candidate Malack Matara garnered 1, 907 votes to win the mini poll as his closest Competitor Daniel Ondabu of Party of Economic Democracy garnered 1,257 votes while Stephen Nyakeriga of New Democrats got 1,004 in to close the tally of the three best.

Leaders Present at Nyamagesa Vocational center led by Kisii Governor James Omariba Ongwae, Senator Prof Sam Ongeri, woman rep Janet Ongera, hailed Kiamokama electorates for making the Party to Secure the seat.

They noted that the victory is an indication that ODM is still strong in Gusii region.

” This is a clear indication that the Party is still strong in the region , we will ensure that it continues being strong until 2022 general election,” says Ongwae adding that the people of Kiamokama have spoken.

Kiamokama seat fell vacant after the death of Kennedy Mainya in November last year who was also ODM member .
