Nyamira 15th April 2021……………….For 13- year old Precious Nyabonyi, her dream to become a model and a beauty queen may remain just a dream if she misses out at the Europe event to be held at Georgia in June.
Nyabonyi, who was among the six finalists selected to participate in the World event says she may just watch her chance to compete with other little queens slip away for her single mother is unable to raise the 800,000 shillings needed to process her travel documents to the Europe country, Georgia for the finals.
The event will be organized by Little Miss Universe, in Europe.
Precious who hopes to become a neurosurgeon in her profession says that
becoming a model would add another feather on her hat if the Georgia competition is not let go.
A part from modelling, little Nyabonyi’s hobbies are, reading story books, dancing and acting among others.
Nyabonyi, through the modelling hopes to also become the African Culture
“I would like to ask financial support from people, organizations of good will to enable me travel to Georgia in June to represent our Country and my native Kisii community in the World even in Europe as Miss Little Universe Kenya”.
Nyabonyi is in standard seven at Tala Town Primary School.
According to her mother, Ruth Sukuru, she realized Nyabonyi’s talent from her child hood at 4 years.
“She would do funny things, dance and recite whatever she could watch on
television, she has grown and had interest in modelling which I feel should be supported”, said Ruth.
Ruth says she won’t be able to raise the amount needed to process her travel to the Europe being a single mother and only operates a grocery in Nairobi for their livelihoods.
She says she has struggled to raise the child balancing between school fees and nurturing the talent she discovered in her only child.
“I have passion to support this talent to the best as a parent but lack financial muscle being a single parent. I have to cater for everything from food, shelter to education and now talent.
“I am overwhelmed and ask our good Kenyans, County government of Nyamira and Organization to chip in and help send this kid to Europe to exploit her talent to the World and am very sure, she won’t let our Country and County down”, pleads Nyabonyi’s mother, Ruth.
In order to confirm her attendance, she need to raise the Kshs. 800,000 to process her travel documents before the end of April. She has to be accompanied by her mother since Nyabonyi has not attained the age of an adult to allow her travel alone.
The Little Miss Universe, Kenya which organized the event in Nairobi, November last year doesn’t have travel arrangements for its participants.
Each of the finalist required to participate from Africa and all over the World will have to pay for their travel to Georgia, Europe.
