KISII KENYA 22 April 2021…………. Drama has escalated in Kisii county assembly after Employees of Kisii County Assembly vowed not to work with embattled County Assembly Clerk James Nyaoga.

The drama started after the Clerk who had been suspended by the County Assembly Service Board was escorted by police to the office on Thursday Morning forcing the staff members to block from accessing his office.

Police officers were forced to use teargas to disperse the angry employees who had come to stop Nyaoga from entering his office where he spent a good part of the day holed up in his office with heavily armed officers keeping vigil outside the assembly.

Led by the Chairman of the Kisii County Assembly Staff welfare Thomas Mogendi said that it was impermissible for Nyaoga to enter the assembly while aware that he was under investigations by the County Assembly Service Board.

“ We were shocked to see Nyaoga being escorted by Police offices to the office who even teargassed us, “Said Mogendi vowing not to work with him since they no longer have confidence in his leadership

In his part Welfare Secretary Geoffrey Oseko noted that Nyaoga was under investigations for using proxies to swindle the county assembly millions of shillings during his time in office and also for failing to submit accident and life insurance premiums for employees.

The secetary added that all was discovered when Kiamokama Ward MCA Kennedy Mainya died who did not have a life cover hence his family was not paid even a single shilling when he passed away last November following a short illness.

The employees have now called upon the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission, Directorate of Public Prosecution and Directorate of Criminal Investigation to carry out a lifestyle audit on the Assembly Clerk to establish how he acquired his wealth.

Our reporter tried to reach Nyaoga who did not respond to his calls and texts and was said to be busy in his office the whole day.
