Kisii Kenya 10 May 2021….…Celebrations were witnessed in Riokindo boys high school in Kisii county after the school was ranked among the most improved schools in the whole country in the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) released yesterday .
The school had registered 268 candidates and all of them managed to score minimum university direct entry of C+.
The school recorded 17 A- ,99B+,11B, 36B- and 5C+ with a mean grade of 9.3 in the 2020 KCPE examination which was announced by the minister of Education George Magoha compared to 2019 mean grade of 7.3.
The school Principal Fred Mogaka noted that the achievement was attained due to efforts and hard work by the students and teachers.
“we are excited as a school for the wonderful results, our school was mentioned by the CS as the most improved school in the 2020 KCPE exams and we thank God for this, “Said Mogaka.
Mr Mogaka said it was not easy learning amidst the Covid 19 pandemic as schools closed down for nine Months but managed to do well.
“We are working for better results and we have already set goals for the 2021 KCSE exams and making steps to achieve this,”Said Mogaka
The principal attributed the results to all stakeholders including the Board of Management ,Teachers ,Parents and Education officials who helped the school to perform better.
He asked the ministry to promote the school to a National school from its current position of an extra County school.
