ODM’s Pavel Oimeke Wins Bonchari Seat

IEBC returning officer Benson Ambuko handing over certificate to Bonchari Mp elect Pavel Oimeke after he won Bonchari By election .

Kisii Kenya 19 May 2021……...Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party candidate Pavel Oimeke has been declared winner in the just concluded Bonchari constituency by-election for garnered 9,049 votes.

The announcement was made by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in the Wednesday morning at Suneka tarrying center by returning officer Benson Ambuko .

Jubilee’s Zebedeo Opore was second with 7,279 votes while UDA’s Teresa Bitutu came third with 6,964. Bitutu is the widow of the late area MP Oroo Oyioka while Jonah Onkendi come fourth.

Addressing the press after being declared a winner and being handed over a certificate , Mp elect Pavel Oimeke hailed ODM leaders for standing with him during the campaigns and voting day .

“I would like to thank the entire team team led by our Party secretary General Edwin Sifuna and Governor James Ongwae for standing with me during my campaigners without forgetting our Party leader Raila odinga” Says Mp elect adding that he is looking forwards to work with the people of Bonchari and foster development to make their life easier

Kisii Governor James Ongwae congratulated Boncahri electorate for demonstrating their democracy .

Ongwae noted that the people of Bonchari residents decided to voter in their leader of choice without being intimidated as Kisii county is always peace loving county .

” Let me congratulate People of Bonchari for demonstrating their democracy, I also laud the leadership of our party led by Raila Odinga , also thank the entire county team who have worked tirelessly for this victory ” said County Boss advocating for democratic elections in future.

In his part the General secretary Edwin sifuna said that as the party they don’t need favor but fair ground .
