Abagusii elders call Ongwae and Cs Matiang’i to reconcile.

Kisii Kenya 20 May 2021………Abagusii Culture and Development Council have set measures to reconcile interior Cabinet Secretary, Dr Fred Matiang’I and Kisii County Governor James Omariba Ongwae over differences which played out during campaigns for Bonchari constituency mini-poll held on Tuesday.

 Speaking to Gusii star at their Offices ACDC Chairman, James Araka Matundura called upon the two leaders to forget their differences,  forgive each other, unite and work together to foster development in the community.

According to the elders their is need of leaders to shun their differences and work together since each need one another more so Governor Ongwae and CS Matiang’i being senior most civil servants from the community.

As the community we need each other , we would not like any person differ since it will affect the community’s cohesion and reduce it to a laughing stock nationally” Said Chairperson adding that Ongwae and Matiang’I are all the community ‘s children and if the differences will be there will have no basis and will a shame the community .

The chairman advised the duo not to listen to gossipers who will create a wedge between them and worsen the situation

Secretary General to the Elders Samwel Bosire Angwenyi said the duo were doing different jobs and urged them to do their work to benefit the Gusii community, stressing the community’s members  respect and prays for them to serve Kenyans in their different roles locally and nationally.

Bosire added that the two play a key role as unifying factor of the community and, if their differences are not addressed, they will affect the community’s unity.

” As the community we know that the two have enough Experience in serving the country , we always pray for them as they will continue serving us in their various capacity.” He said

As the same time they lauded the election of Orange Democratic Movement ( ODM) candidate, Pavel Oimeke and the conduct of residents during the poll, adding council members from Bonchari had confirmed it was peaceful and called the Mp elect to be unifying factor to foster development in the area.

The elders sentiments comes after ODM leaders condemned the government that it used a lot of force to harass and intimidate residents during Bonchari campaigns
