Health workers urged to be transparent and rational as KEMSA delivers Kshs. 33 million assorted medicine.

Nyamira Kenya 27 June 2021……Nyamira County governor Amos Nyaribo has called upon the health workers across the County to be rational and transparent in their duties to ensure that every needy resident benefits from the medicine commodities supplied to their facilities.

Speaking today where he flagged off a consignment of assorted medicines, Nyaribo noted that there were few reports of misuse and theft and urged the residents to keep an eye and report any incident of pilferage of the drugs.

“We are flagging off today a consignment of assorted medicines to all our 113 health facilities worth Kshs. 33 million.

These are the government’s efforts to enable the medical need of every resident is met”, he said.

“I want to commend the health workers for prompt utilization of the medicines that were flagged off in February this year, we hardly had a case of theft.

However, I want to encourage our residents to keep an eye and report any incident of misuse of these useful commodities in their area’, he added.

Nyaribo added that in order to end the misuse and theft in the health facilities, his government intend to automate medicine management in the 2021/22 financial year.

The exercise, he said, will commence from the main hospitals and subsequently rolled out to the dispensaries and health centers.
