Kisii Kenya 07 July 2021……..Rioma residents in Kitutu chache south ,Kisii county have been promised that the government will crack the whip against the Police officers allegedly Killed people two weeks ago at Rioma police station.

Addressing residents on Wednesday at Rioma the Cabinet Minister of Interior Dr Fred Matiangi and inspector General of Hillary Mutyiambai said that they have all reports which will help them to take necessary action .

This comes after a Convict died mysteriously in the hands of the police officers leading to a protest in which a 16 year old girl was shot dead and two others left with injuries.

The Cs said after the incident there have been officers from the internal affairs unit from Nairobi who have conducted investigations which are almost complete,which will be used to crack the whip.

“The internal affairs officers have been here for the whole week doing investigations and at the end of the day they will give a report but we have already started taking steps” said Matiangi.the

They asked the residents to work hand in hand with the police officers adding that they have agreed with the leaders to have strategies on how they will move forward in regard to security with the police officers and live a peaceful life.

“We have plans with the administrative leaders on the way forward to also have a good cohesion with the public”said CS Matiang’i

Inspector general Hillary Mutymbai asked for support from the public adding that the police are doing great work on security and a small mistake does not paint the police look bad.

“our officers are doing a great job when you are asleep and for them they are at work by protecting you, let’s have a good relationship with the police, “said inspector general.

He called upon the residents to forward their complaints concerning the police officers using the right channels and they will work on their concerns.

Let’s work hand in hand with the police officers and support them when executing their duties because they are there to protect you, “said Mutymbai.

Kisii governor James Ongwae said that the police station was constructed in the area because of insecurity incidents which were recorded in the area and since then there has been security despite few cases which has been reported .
