Nyamira Kenya 22 July 2022…….Confusion has engulfed the County government of Nyamira as special programs advisor Dr. James Gesami assumes roles of Deputy Governor (DG).

This comes after he was twice rejected by the county assembly’s appointments committee to the post on grounds that he did not meet the integrity requirements.

Governor Amos Nyaribo later appointed him a special programs advisor as a case against his appointment awaits determination in Nyamira High Court.

Yesterday during the Equity Banks Wings to fly scholarships launch at Sironga Girls high school, Dr. Gesami represented Nyaribo in a ceremony attended by several senior government officials, read governor’s speech.

74 pupils benefitted from the Equity Bank’s Wings to Fly Foundation, all from poor and needy backgrounds.

In the event of absence of governor and his deputy in an official function, the County Secretary (CS) who was present in yesterday’s event could have represented the executive.

The embattled ex-West Mugirango Constituency legislature will have to wait for a determination of the petition filed in Nyamira High Court to know the fate of his DG job.
The case is being heard today.

Among other privileges accorded to Dr. Gesami are use of the office space designated to the county DG, a Toyota Prado vehicle previously used by the governor’s entourage, a Personal Assistant (P.A) and secretaries, security detail among others.
