After keenly looking at today’s meeting between Raila Odinga, Fred Matiang’i, Sam Ongeri, Janet Ong’era, Junet Mohammed and James Ongwae; it can only be compared to Westphalia Treaty of 1648 whose peace treaties signed in the Westphalian cities of Osnabrück and Münster and subsequently created framework for diplomacy, mediations, international relations and sovereignty between nations.

Look at the photo keenly; the enigma himself Eng. Raila Amolo Odinga looked at Mr. ‘Fix It’ Dr. Fred Matiang’i and saw Napolean Bonaparte demonstrating exceptional military skills during the Siege of Toulon. What Odinga saw in Matiang’i can only be equated to Franklin D. Rosevelt’s vigorous & consistent promotion of the conservation movement, emphasizing efficient use of natural resources.

Matiang’i looked back at former Kenya Prime Minister Raila Odinga directly at the eye and recalled former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s successful role of leading Britain through World War Two. Churchill’s refusal to give in, even when things were going badly can be equated to Odinga’s persistence in Kenyan politics.

Today’s high level meeting between Raila, Matiang’i, Ongwae, Ongeri, Ong’era and Junet is no other. Its a great meeting that can only compared to the Women’s Suffrage event in 26th August 1920 in Washington D.C that finally gave women a voice and the right to cast their ballots after the 19th Amendment of the Constitution was passed. It reminds me of Chinese Communists Rise on the 1st July 1921 in Beijing in a prequel to the rise of Mao Zedong and Red China, the Chinese Communist Party is founded and three weeks later it convenes its first National Congress that is attended by Mao himself, but would take another 28 years before the Republic of China becomes the People’s Republic of China.

The meeting between Raila, Ongwae and Matiang’i rekindles the British Empire Shrinks in London on the 28th February 1922 that commanded a global population estimated to be as many as 570 million people, or about a fourth of the world’s population at the time or rather be compared to the Great Kanto Earthquake in Tokyo, Yokohama, Japan Noon 1st September 1923.

Kisii Women Representative Janet Ong’era on his side was an exact look a like of Laura Chichilla, the first female President of Costa Rica as Ongwae was likened to Werner Fayman, the most famous grizzled Viennese since Sigmud Freud who wears dark suits and thin striped ties. For Professor Sam Ongeri and Junet Mohammed, it was a complete replica of Martin Luther King and George Washington living in 2021.
