Gusii leaders have been called to shun from dividing others for their own benefit, instead they should come up with structures which will enable the community to talk in one voice for bargaining.
North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko warned a section of leaders who he accused of using every opportunity they get to divide other leaders by selling propaganda.
Nyamoko who spoke in Uhuru gardens during the swearing-in of Dr James Gesami emphasized that those propagating divisive politics should instead forge unity of purpose to develop the county.
According to the lawmaker the community can not achieve anything when its not united adding that development in the county depends on how well combine efforts towards common good.
His sentiments were directed at his colleagues Vincent Kemosi, West Mugirango MP, the Nyamira County Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi and Borabu MP Ben Momanyi who skipped Tuesday’s event.
He wondered why the leaders skipped the event noting that other communities also come together when they have such events.
The legislator singled out recent meetings by other communities in preparation for the 2022 general election, saying there is a need to similarly unite the Gusii community to boost their bargaining power for the national cake.
