25 Oct 2021…….Bodaboda riders From Kisii county has been urged to form Sacco so that they can make savings which will enable them start the business by their own .
Addressing the Boda Boda riders on Monday at Masongo grounds during the thanks Giving ceremony of the newly elected officials , Kisii central Deputy commissioner Wilberforce Kilonzo said that its only through savings which will enable them to improve their life standards.
At the same time he called them to work with security agencies whenever the problems arises.
” Today we are making the history of Boda boda in Kisii county I would like to hail the elected leaders through them we are going to make this sector better than ever” He said adding that his office has set measures of ensuring that they work together for prosperity.
The DCC called upon the elected leaders to spend more time listening to the riders’ views seeking guidance from Government officials and constantly brainstorming together on all issues before taking any step.
About crimes the DCC vowed to dismantle all criminal cartels that may have infiltrated in various economic sectors and hijacked leadership.
“Any civilian or Government employees within Kisii central who will be found to be frustrating the efforts of Kenyans to better their lives will face the fully arm of the law without any Meacy ” Warned DCC noting that the notion that Bodaboda rides are troops ready to hire in causing trouble is no longer in fashion .
” Let us join effort in changing the notion that Boda boda riders are troops ready for hire in causing trouble eg political violence demonstration ,transporting criminals, transporting illegal items like Changaa ,bhang and many items ” he added
The DCC noted that there is few days left for the closure of the exercise but its is below the target which is 26 % in Nyaribari Chache where 17,866 new voters were expected ..
He advised the public to continue observing the protocols and go for the vaccination .
“ lets all get vaccinated and encourage our families and friends to do likewise so that we eliminate the virus from Kenya ”
Other officials who attended the function include DCC Kitutu central Madam Elizabeth Atemi who advised the Bodaboda to behave with dignity when carrying passengers .
