80,000 families from Kitui to benefit with UHC

KITUI KENYA 17 DEC 2021 —— Kitui county government has kicked off countywide registration for Kitui Universal Health Care ( Kitui-UHC)* Health Insurance cover in partnership with the *National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF)

Through the co-pay scheme, each beneficiary household will only contribute *Sh.3,000* while Governor Charity Ngilu’s administration will top up the remaining *Sh.3,000* for a full-year comprehensive medical cover for the whole family.

Registration is ongoing in all the 40 Wards across Kitui and residents have been urged to embrace the program dubbed Kitui Afya Bora*

Member households will be able to access a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services in all public and private NHIF accredited healthcare facilities across Kitui, Kenya as well as referral hospitals and even abroad.

Covered residents will enjoy services like accidents and emergency care, maternal care, renal dialysis, cancer treatment, radiology, family planning and all surgical procedures including organ transplants, among others.
The county is targeting to register 80,000 families who will be the beneficiaries.
